I want to show you who I am.
I want you to explore the secrets
Of my stubborn heart,
I want to tell you stories,
And write for you each poem
That the stars whisper in the night.
I want to look into your eyes,
Pronounce your name one more time,
And find you in the dreams I have.

I want to show you who I am.
I want you to see every freckle, every mark,
To caress my wounds
And memorize my smile.
I want you to know that I have felt
Both happiness and pain,
That my soul isn’t perfect
But is courageous and brave.

I want to show you who I am.
I want you to see my imperfections,
To understand my fears, my introspection,
To not be afraid when I have doubts,
When I lose direction.
I want you to love me
Despite the unanswered questions.
I want you to be certain
That wherever I am, near or far,
A piece of my heart
Will always belong to your heart.
